"Jesus came to give fullness of life" John 10:10

Mathematics is essential to everyday life, provides a foundation for understanding the world and creates a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject. Maths lessons at Idle C.E. (A) Primary School enable our pupils to become confident mathematicians. They focus on mastering fluency before using this knowledge to solve reasoning and problem solving questions. Throughout school, pupils progress from using concrete items to help their understanding to pictorial and abstract methods. Pupils learn how to apply mental strategies as well as formal written methods. It is crucial that pupils see the importance of maths, especially when applying mathematical skills to everyday problems and investigative work.
