Spring Term 2024
**Spring 1**
During Spring 1 (January-February Half Term) we have taken our imagination around the world - exploring polar regions and the oceans!
Our amazing stories this half term have been:
The Magical Snow Garden
Lost and Found
People Need People
Only One You
Meet the Oceans
These stories have helped us to discover new things, new places and new vocabulary - from Arctic and Antarctic to naming some of the oceans of the world and finding them on the globe...and even building boats and submarines with periscopes!
We have created our own Snow Garden on the window in RT, made sea creatures to hang from the ceiling...and made the playground into an underwater world with our amazing chalk drawings of ocean animals and waves.
In Maths we have begun to learn more about height and length and have continued our number journey with exploration of numbers 6, 7 and 8.
**Spring 2**
After learning about the wider world in Spring 1 we focused on our local area and transport in Spring 2 (March and April)
Our amazing stories this half term have been:
Martha Maps it out
On the Way Home
The Naughty Bus
You Can’t Take an Elephant on the Bus
As well as all the adventures from our stories we have explored our local area – getting to know some of the places and people in our community.
We visited Idle Library and Holy Trinity Church and met their staff.
Towards the end of the half term we had some special small fluffy visitors in school and enjoyed our Easter worship service.
In Maths we have been exploring number bonds to 10 as well as one more and one less – we’ve really enjoyed using Numicon to help us!
