Year 2 Home Learning
Hello Year 2, and welcome to your home learning hub!! Being stuck at home doesn’t have to be boring we have lots of fun stuff for you to do. Homework and class lesson work for those in isolation will be available on Class Dojo so make sure you are signed up. Don’t worry if you have having issues though just contact your class teacher or school and they can help you out!
We believe it is really important to keep active even if you are stuck at home so make sure you find time do some daily exercise. BBC Supermovers have lots of great timestables dances for you to get active to, it also has English songs and more! So pick one, have a boogie and learn something new!
Timetable Rockstars is another great source of online learning. Click Log in - Click School - Click Student. Then enter your username and password, if you can’t remember these just ask your class teacher!
Phonics is a daily activity that we complete in year 2 and it is always good to recap phase 3, 4 and 5 sounds that we have learn in previous years. We often use the wonderful Mrs Biggers phonics YouTube channel to embed the childrens learning. Follow the link below for a wide range of fun phonics activities with one of Idles best teachers.
Next we have a great link to some information around our Science topic this half term (Animals including humans). You can watch the video on BBC bite size (https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zxcmp39 ) and then have a go at some of the activities on Outstanding Science (https://www.outstandingscience.co.uk/index.php?action=view_page&page=view_unit&unit=2c ). Hope you have lots of fun learning!
Finally, we have some information around our Geography topic (France and around the world). You can explore the maps on https://firstname.lastname@example.org,-1.7489735,14z before watching the travels of Barnaby Bear on https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01151kh
