In maths, Year 5 have been looking at fractions! We have been focusing on:
English
In English, Year 5 have been writing a diary entry based on Secrets of a Sun King. The class placed themselves in the shoes of Howard Carter and detailed the first entry of Tutunkhamun's tomb. This linked brilliantly to our topic of Ancient Egypt in history!
Curriculum
In wider curriculum, 5N have explored the solar system in science, looking at the planets and different ideas over time. In Geography, we have identified rivers and mountain ranges around the world. In our RE lessons, Year 5 have been thinking about Jesus as the messiah.
As part of our history topic on Ancient Egypt, 5N went on a brilliant visit to Cliffe Castle! During this visit, the children had the opportunity to replicate the mummification of a body.
Leading up to Christmas, Year 5 had the opportunity to lead an assembly all about the Christingle!
