6E Autumn Term

This Term in 6E in Maths we have been learning Fractions


We have been working on the four operations:

  • Multiplying fractions
  • Dividing fractions
  • Adding fractions
  • Subtracting fractions

as well as working on finding the whole with Unit and Non Unit fractions.

6E are currently working on converting measurments.



This Term in History we have been learning about the Mayan civilisation. 

This includes: 

  • How they lived
  • Trading.
  • Farming.
  • Calendars.
  • Glyphs and the number system.
  • How the Mayan civilisation colapsed.



This Term in 6E in English we have been writing about Charles Darwin and his Theory of evolution. 


This includes: 

  • An information text on an animal Darwin studied.
  • A Diary of a day in the life of Darwin.
  • An explanation text about the HMS Beagle.
  • A narrative based on Darwin's Dragon.

And we are currently working on pieces of writing based on the adapatations seen in the peppered moths.


This Term in 6E in Reading we have been exploring lots of new texts to expand our understanding of the world and the people in it.
