Summer Term

F is for Fun

In Year 3 we have been talking about how we help each other to flourish.

We have been given a chamomile plant to help nurture and flourish. We are doing this by making sure it has enough water and sunlight to make it grow and flourish to its full potential.

We have also been looking at the letter F for Fun.

"Me and some of girls have been doing cheerleading groups." Eva

"We have been playing football." Teddy

"I have been playing fun games with my friends." Sophie

"Playing with Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on the field." Barney

On Tuesday Mrs. Mason surprised us all with an extra break time for having fun.

Ivor is 6

Today is Ivor the guinea pig's 6th birthday. He has been our class pet this year and the class pet for 5 other classes in the past.

He is becoming an old man, but he still enjoys: 3T, playing in hay, sleeping, digging, apples, lettuce, carrots, water, celery and dandelions.

DT and Maths - All about shape.

In maths this term we have been learning all about shapes. "2 straight lines that will never meet are called parallel" Teddy, we have also looked at perpendicular lines. "We have learnt the difference between horizontal and vertical lines" Ibrahim. "We have been learning about right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles." Ivy, we also investigated in the classroom where we can see the 3 different types of angles. "We've been learning about turns, both clockwise and anti-clockwise" Barney. 3T used all their mathematical vocabulary to direct Mr. Tetley from his desk onto the playground.

We have continued this cross-curricular links with DT, where we are going to construct castles out of cardboard. "In DT we made 3D shapes out of 2D shapes, I made a cuboid." Louie. "We had so much fun doing the shapes, I made a cube it had 6 squares," Rosie.

Here are some photographs showing all our focus when making 3D shapes using nets.
