Our School Day

Our school day starts at 9:00am. The classroom doors will close at 9:10am so all children who arrive after this time should make their way to the main office. Children arriving after 9:30 am will be given a late mark.

Our school day finishes at 3:30pm. It is important that children are picked up promptly at 3:30pm so please be on the playground no later than 3:25pm, ready to greet your child.

Total number of hours in a school week: 32.5 hours

School Uniform

The Governors, Staff and pupils are proud of the uniform we have at school promoting a sense of 'belonging'. The school logo was designed and agreed by pupils and defines our Christian ethos.

School Meals

We are pleased to offer a hot meal service at school.  In conjunction with our external providers - Facilities Management, pupils at school enjoy the choice of a tasty, nutritious well-balanced meal.

Our bespoke menu operates over a three week cycle and is discussed and agreed with our Caterers, Business Manager, School Meals Governor and pupil School Council.

We have a high take-up of pupils (87%) who have a school meal daily and all pupils enjoy their dining room experience i.e. dining and socialising together at lunch time.

Children in years R to yr 2 are eligible for free meals as part of the separate scheme that provides lunches to all children in these year groups.

A copy of our menu can be found on the school meals website:

https://schoolmeals.bradford.gov.uk/

In addition to the listed choices, Jacket Potatoes, Paninis and sandwiches will be available every day.

Parents are encouraged to apply for Free School Meals for their child - irrespective of whether the child has a school meal or a sandwich lunch. If you are eligible it also provides additional support to help children in school.

Information on Free School Meals can be found on Bradford Council's website at www.bradford.gov.uk/schoolmeals and provides useful information about school meals in general and Free School Meals.

It also lists additional benefits children and parents may receive if they are eligible for Free School Meals e.g. children who are in receipt of free school meals are also entitled to free school milk, assistance with residential visit expenditure and items of school uniform.

For every pupil entitled to a free school meal, the school receives additional funding called the Pupil Premium.  This additional funding is extremely vital and is given to schools so that they can support and close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Please speak to our Business Manager in confidence, should you require assistance with an application for free school meals for your child, you can email office@idle.bradford.sch.uk or call 01274 410111.
