Computing

In our computing we are developing our skills with computers to make our own digital music for a purpose. We have been using Chrome Music Lab to explore different ways of making music with a computer.

We started by creating patterns with different instruments to hear how rhythms can change. We explored tempo and changing speed and compared with others.

We are learning how to make music with computers - Priya

I liked it when we used the monkey app to make a rhythm. - Seb

We used different instruments to make music on the laptop - Dexter

DT

This topic is all about structures and we are devloping our skills to create structures that are stable and strong. Our aim is to make a chair for a stuffed animal in our class

We started by observing 3D shapes and testing their stability when seeing how high we could life a book before it rolled or fell off.

We made different shapes of playdough and moved the board to see how long it can stay on - Addison

If it stays on the longest it is more stable. - Isla

We then created our own 3D structures using paper to test to see which one held the most weight. We made cylinders, triangular prisms and cuboids.

The cylinder is the strongest because it held more books. - Danyal

Science

During our science unit we are exploring how plants grow and how buble and seeds are different. We have created our own experiment to measure how temperature affects growth. We have planted our own bubl or seed and have half inside the classroom and half outside the classroom. Over time we will measure to see which grows the tallest in each environment.

In science we planted sunflower seeds and watering them everyday - Isla

I predict it will grow better inside because it will be warmer for it. - Nell

I predict it might be better outside because i can get sunlight and water if it rains too. - Brody

May Day

We celebrated May Day by decorating our bikes and scooters and learnt all about our British Values.

We spent the day diving into all things British Values and unpicking what they mean and how we show them. We discussed individual liberty and how this makes us who we are and that we are all different but we can show the respect and tolerance to others. We used Elmer as an explame and then drew or wrote all things that make us special in each of the coloured tiles.

We spent lunchtime on the field with the rest of the shool dining with our picnic.

We then paraded our bikes and scooters around the field together and sang the national anthem.

I loved riding my scooter around the field. - Max

I loved colouring in Elmer and sharing why i am special. - Dexter

I loved eating the picnic on the field. - Esha
