On the 4th December, the whole school made christingles within their classes ready for some of us to go to church in the afternoon.
Children in years 2 to 6 went to Holy Trinity to celebrate the birth of Jesus and Jesus as the Light of the World. We discussed through our service the meaning of each element of the christingle where the red ribbon symbolises the love and blood of Christ. The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God's creations. The lit candle represents Jesus's light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
The children shared some beautiful songs that we had been practicing and read some prayers to share our love at this special time.
