A Special Visitor at Idle: Learning About Guide Dogs 🐾
Today, our school had the privilege of welcoming a very special guest—a guide dog Jaeger and their handler Chris who is a member of our local community. This visit was an incredible opportunity for our pupils to learn about the important role guide dogs play in supporting people with visual impairments and promoting independence.
What We Learned
The children discovered:
- How guide dogs are trained to help their owners navigate safely
- The responsibilities of caring for a guide dog
- Why respect and understanding are so important when meeting a working dog
Our pupils asked thoughtful questions and were fascinated to see the guide dog in action. It was a wonderful way to reinforce values of kindness, empathy, and inclusion.
A Big Thank You
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Chris and Jaeger, who generously gave up their time to come and see the pupils at Idle. Your visit was inspiring and truly memorable for everyone!
