Year 2 Key Information:

Homework

Compulsory homework includes reading. Please hear your child read daily. Record this through marvellous me on the google form. Your child needs to read at least 3 times before their book is changed. Reading and Library books will be changed every Friday. If your child is on a recommended read, they can change this when they have read it once. Books will need to be signed out and back in to track which book is your childs current book.

Spellings are tested every 3rd Monday and your child will be sent home with their spellings on the Tuesday. Children need to get all 10 spellings correct before they can pass on to the next honeycomb.

PE

In year 2, our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Children can come to school in their PE kit which should include:

·         Plain white or school logo T-shirt

·         Plain black / navy shorts

·         Plain black / navy blue tracksuits (Year 2 only)

·         Hair ties for children with long hair

·         Pumps for games and wet days

Water Bottles

We understand the benefits of staying hydrated for general health and effective learning, so children may bring water bottles into school: please ensure that these are clearly named.  Children should arrive in school with their water bottle filled and are able to top these up throughout the day.
